BENGALURU: For the first time, candidates who have applied for the CAT 2016, can correct mistakes in their application forms even after the submission. Percentage of marks scored, work experience and programmes selected are the details that can be edited on the CAT Application formwebpage from October 1 to 5.

The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) announced on Thursday that registrations to CAT 2016 will be concluding on September 22 by 5 pm. The institute has also unveiled, for the first time, initiatives for candidates applying for the test under the persons with disability (PWD) category.

The CAT application webpage will have a separate tab dedicated for the assistance required by PWD candidates. The option will include applying for a scribe, requesting for a wheelchair, enabling a zoom feature among other options, which would also be available from October 1 to 5. Candidates can seek help from a dedicated help desk – catpwdsupport@iimb.ernet.in.

Furthermore, for candidates with visual difficulty, questions alternate to graphs, pictures or maps will be provided during the test. On the day of the test (December 4), PWD candidates will be given priority access (15 minutes before permitting other candidates) to the test venue for registrations.

Every test center will have a PWD coordinator to assist the candidate and the coordinator’s number will be provided to the candidates ahead of the test. Each of the centers will also have a fully functional wheelchair available to any candidate who may need mobility assistance. The institute has cautioned aspirants against last minute registrations. “Going by the trends of previous years, there will be a huge surge in the number of registrations in the last 2-3 days, which increases the load on servers and can potentially impact server response time. Candidates are advised to register early and avoid last minute inconvenience,” said Prof Rajendra K Bandi, Convener, CAT 2016.
